I make abstract painting and drawing. I don’t consider drawing a lesser category than painting. I also occasionally work with video art and installation.
I work through improvisation — I never plan or sketch. Only when I let go of control do I find results that truly surprise me. The less I think, the more spark my work has.
I reject the classic rhetoric of sacrifice, excellence, or success. Epic, grandeur, and glory are completely anachronistic terms.

I’m fascinated by the gaze of children: they know they understand almost nothing and have no control over their lives, yet that doesn’t stop them from enjoying it. That way of being is my greatest source of inspiration.
I’m drawn to the ridiculous, because it is the opposite of the solemn, and because of its power to unsettle.
Someone once said my work is both frivolous and profound. I like that.
Ultimately, everything I’ve explained above is anecdotal — little more than justification.
At the core, the only thing that truly matters —my real pursuit— is grace.
Grace is everything
