Drawings
I take a critical stance toward the idea that drawing is a minor art form. I do not accept the assumption that, simply because it is more immediate and requires fewer technical resources, its content is somehow less substantial.
A drawing can possess as much quality, strength, and artistic interest as any work traditionally classified among the “major arts.” In fact, its immediacy and spontaneity can make the artist’s creative qualities more evident, as there is less opportunity to rely on seductive artifice.
In this sense, drawing can be understood as a direct, honest, and essential form of expression.
